Safety is Everyone's Concern

Safety should always be the concern of everyone in any company, and Killeshal are happy to have a workforce that is invested in its own safety.

Case in point... on a few occasions now, we have rewarded employees for Good Catches in relation to Health and Safety issues. You know the sort of thing, an employee notices a risk that hadn't been noticed previously, or someone says "wouldn't in be safer if we did such-and-such".

A Little Thank You

When employees are encouraged to speak up about risks, they feel valued and engaged in the safety process, and get to see their contributions making a difference.

By highlighting risks, employees can help prevent accidents before they occur. Early identification of potential dangers allows for timely interventions, reducing the likelihood of injuries and incidents.

Most recently, one of our guys, Odhran, highlighted an issue at his particular workstation where he could have just taken a mental note and continued working. But instead, he highlighted the issue and in doing so he has helped eliminate a potential risk that may have impacted others in the future.

When employees actively identify and report workplace risks like this, it fosters a culture of safety awareness. This proactive approach encourages everyone to be vigilant about potential hazards, leading to a safer work environment and this is the kind of self-investment in workplace safety that we love to see and we were happy to provide a small thank you. As we have done before, we treated the Good Catch Finder and a buddy to breakfast.
