TACTILE FLAGS
In response to the current needs of those with mobility difficulties, Killeshal are pleased to introduce our new Tactile Flags System for use at pedestrian crossings.
Killeshal Tactile Flags System provides a means for blind and partially-sighted people to identify safe crossing points. Specially designed paving, such as Tactile, is recommended for use at zebra and pelican crossings by the Institution of Highway and Transport and Transportation’s guidelines “Reducing Mobility Handicaps”.
Killeshal Tactile Flags are characterised by a raised, domed surface, easily detectable underfoot and distinctive from the surrounding area. The paving, when laid in the recommended pattern, advises the blind or partially sighted person that they have reached a safe crossing point and locates the push button until of pelican crossings. The correct laying of tactile paving also indicates the direction in which to cross.
